On March 26, 2013, the Decree PD-1942 of the Republic of Uzbekistan "About improving personnel system in the sphere of information technologies” was adopted. The aim of new organization system of faculties and departments of Samarkand Branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies was to improve radically and to prepare the system of training of high qualified specialists in the field of information communication technologies on the world’s standards level and to improve organization activity of Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
 
The following decrees were adopted in pursuance of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan: 
 
- On June 28, 2013- the Decree № 188 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Re-public of Uzbekistan "About full development of organization system of Tash-kent University of Information Technologies and its regional branches”;
- On July 4, 2013- the Order № 280 of the State Committee of communication, informatization and telecommunication technologies;
- On July 4, 2013- the Order № 232 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- On July 5, 2013 -the Order № 770 of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies;
- On August 29, 2013 - the Order № 905 of the Tashkent University of  Infor-mation Technologies.
- On the basis of these documents the faculty of "Computer Engineering” was founded and "Information technology",
"Software Engineering", "Computer systems", "Natural science", "Humanities and social sciences" departments began their activities.

5330600 - Software engineering;
5330200 - Computer and Information Technology (by industry).
